The Farm and Forage Fellowship Program is a comprehensive, multi-season immersion into foraging and small-medium scale diversified farming/gardening in the Mid-Atlantic region! This program is perfect for people who want to greatly enhance their farming and foraging skills, become healthier and more resilient, start a new farm/garden project, or develop a deeper connection to the land around them. The skills and techniques we discuss will be applicable to many types of ecosystems around the world.

Cultivate the skills you need to confidently start a garden, grow and forage your own food, safely identify wild plants and mushrooms, cook and process fresh ingredients into food and medicine, cultivate mushrooms at home and more!! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn practical skills, spend time outdoors and connect with like-minded community.

TOPICS & SKILLS COVERED:

  • Organic, low-cost vegetable and fruit cultivation

  • Harvesting and processing of greens, herbs, fruits, roots and mushrooms

  • Vegetable gardening throughout the seasons

  • Irrigation, pest/disease management, hand tools, tool maintenance

  • Mushroom cultivation at home

  • Fruit tree and shrub maintenance

  • Plant propagation and tree grafting

  • Identification of wild plants and mushrooms

LOCATION:

Some of the classes will take place at Forested Farm and Education in Bowie, MD. For other classes we will meet at local parks around Montgomery County and Prince George counties in Maryland and perhaps we will meet once in Washington DC.

Foraging Walks and
Farm Tours

Nature is abundant with food, medicine & more yet we have forgotten our ancient ways of working with the botanical and fungal relatives growing all around us. Learning about wild foods takes time and focus but in the process we are rewarded with greater health, happiness, resilience and connection to the natural world.

During these workshops we will discuss topics such as:

My name is Bodhi…

I am the founder of Nature’s Love and Wisdom. I’m a passionate forest gardener, herbalist, naturalist, and educator. I regularly teach on topics such as foraging, botany, permaculture, and more. I also help manage Forested, a regenerative farm and education center working to expand forest agriculture in DC and Maryland. With a BS in environmental science, multiple technical certifications, and a decade of experience working with the land, I apply the skills and knowledge I have acquired toward my service to life on Earth.

My teaching explores the intersection of foraging, agroforestry and food systems with ecology, activism, and cultural transformation. I offer immersive, educational workshops, retreats and courses. In addition, I help manage Forested, a regenerative food forest farm and education center working to expand forest agriculture in Washington DC and Maryland. I also serve as a sitting Council Member on the Montgomery County Food Council.

With a BS in environmental science and engineering, multiple technical certifications, and a decade of experience working with the land, I apply the skills and knowledge I have acquired towards service to life on Earth.
